Papilio Ulysses

$15.00

Inspired by the vibrant beauty of the Papilio Ulysses Butterfly, this watercolor painting captures the vibrant color within the wing pattern of this magnificent creature. "Papilio Ulysses” or the Blue Emperor is a member of the family Papilionidae living in Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. This species was previously endangered, but conservation efforts have increased its numbers. Painted in bright blue with gentle gray undertones, this painting is a minimalistic and graceful scientific study.

Papilio Ulysses is a 5 x 5 giclée print, created on archival cotton rag, a flat fine art quality paper, printed with professional fine art quality inks, and hand-cut in studio.

The Butterfly Collective is inspired by Maya Angelou's thought-provoking words "We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty," and seeks to draw our attention to the strength and beauty that live in diversity.

PRINTED TO ORDER. All giclée prints are created by a local print shop at the time of your order. Please allow 2 weeks processing time.
