Magnolia

Inspired by the soft and sturdy nature of magnolia blooms, this watercolor painting captures the mysterious grace of this beautiful botanical. “Magnolia” is genus including 210 flowering plant species in the family Magnoliaceae. Fossils of this species date back 20 million years. Having evolved before bees, the ancient magnolia blossoms relied on beetles for pollination. Magnolias are native to Eastern Asia and North and Central America with several species ranging into South America. Painted in soft white tones with gentle golden highlights, this painting is a minimalistic and graceful scientific study
