Inspired by the vibrant beauty of the Papilio Ulysses Butterfly, this watercolor print captures the vibrant color within the wing pattern of this magnificent creature. "Papilio Ulysses” or the Blue Emperor is a member of the family Papilionidae living in Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. This species was previously endangered, but conservation efforts have increased its numbers. Painted in bright blue with gentle gray undertones, this painting is a minimalistic and graceful scientific study.

The Butterfly Collective is inspired by Maya Angelou's thought-provoking words "We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty," and seeks to draw our attention to the strength and beauty that live in diversity.
